We had a fresh start with RSEvents!Pro and, as usual when launching a new product small things still need to be adjusted. Rev. 2 comes with a few fixes regarding the event dates and how dates are imported from RSEvents! in case you are upgrading.

One of the most expected extensions this year is the new Joomla! event management extension - RSEvents!Pro. Our new event planner comes as the result of years of customer feedbacks and suggestions and has been specially developed to meet their demands.

Suppose you have a Joomla! based community website where users can organize local events from concerts to meetings and fundraisings.

One of the project requirements is to be able to sell the priveligies to add events. For example, one would be able to pay in order to add an event.

Users that want to manage their own events (create new events or even sell tickets via PayPal) will periodically be charged.

We’re happy to announce the release of a new RSEvents! revision with
exciting new features and design improvements: a brand new dashboard, new designs, customizable themes and an integration with the Google Calendar and Facebook events.

1. New event designs

RSEvents! rev. 23 comes with major design improvements: new designs, customizable event themes and new calendar themes.

We've replaced the old event templates with a set of 4 new professional designs (blue, dark, green and pink) along with 2 classic styles, specially designed to fit into any site layout.

As we're expected, the J and Beyond 2010 event was fantastic: a massive density of Joomla! geeks gathered to share ideas and knowledge acquired within years of development.

It has been a nice experience to meet the people behind the screens and associate a real face to a photo or avatar from twitter, Facebook or the Joomla! forums. (You can find lots of photos from the event on the JandBeyond Flickr group.)

Besides the 45 speakers invited to held presentations, there were organized, for the first time, the Joomla! Oscar awards for extensions, templates, websites and individuals.
