Groups

The Groups tab sums up all user groups-related information and permissions. It can be accessed in Components >> RSDirectory! >> Groups.

 
Groups Listing

When accessing this tab, a listing with all defined user groups, along with some group-related information will be displayed:

  • Status: You can set the group's status: Published / Unpublished
  • Name: The group's name
  • ID: The group's internal, unique ID

Groups can also be filtered by keywords and the same criteria mentioned above.

Editing a group

By clicking on a group in the listing, you will access the group's permissions settings. This area has been split into 5 tabs, for better identification of the permission types:

 
Group
  • Name: The group's name
  • Published: Set whether the group is published or not
  • Initial Credits: How many credits the users of this group should initially have
  • Select a user group: Select a Joomla! user group that will be associated with this RSDirectory! group

Owner
  • Can add entries: Users in this group can add entries
  • Can edit own entries: Users in this group can only edit their own entries
  • Can delete own entries: Users in this group can only delete their own entries
  • Can view own unpublished entries: Users in this group can only view their own unpublished entries
  • Can change category: Users in this group can change an entry's category
  • Entries are automatically published: Entries posted by users who belong to this group will be published automatically (do not require moderation)

Admin
  • Can edit all entries: Users in this group can edit all entries (their own and other users' entries as well)
  • Can delete all entries: Users in this group can delete all entries (their own and other users' entries as well)
  • Can view all unpublished entries: Users in this group can view all unpublished entries (their own and other users' entries as well)
  • Can claim available entries: Users in this group can claim available entries

Voting & review
  • Can cast votes: Users in this group are allowed to cast votes. They can only cast a single vote per entry.
  • Can post reviews: Users in this group can post reviews
  • Owners can vote their own entries: Allows owners to cast votes for their own entries
  • Ratings and reviews are automatically published: Ratings and reviews posted by users who belong to this group will be published automatically(do not require moderation)

Security
  • Can contact entries authors: If set to Yes, users in this group will be able to send a message to the entry's author (through the Contact button on the entry's page)
  • Enable contact form captcha: If set to Yes, users in this group will need to fill out a CAPTCHA field when sending the message to the author
  • Enable review form captcha: Set to Yes in order to force users in this group to enter a CAPTCHA code when submitting a review
  • Enable add entry form captcha: Set to Yes in order to force users in this group to enter a CAPTCHA code when submitting an entry
  • Enable report form captcha: Set to Yes in order to force users in this group to enter a CAPTCHA code when submitting a report
  • Enable claim form captcha: Set to Yes in order to force users in this group to enter a CAPTCHA code when submitting a claiming form
