Using RSSocial! in module positions

Just like any other Joomla! module, simply go to System > Manage > Site Modules look for the RSSocial! module and edit it. The Module tab allows you to configur multiple paramteres, but the following 2 are the most important:

• Status: This needs to be set to Published, otherwise the module will not be loaded at all
• Position: Choose one of your template's module positions in which the module will be loaded.

The social presence can be displayed in 3 ways (controlled by the Appearence > Mode setting):

• Icons: have a simple icon link to your social pages
• Sharing: display various social profile information, such as likes, shares, counters and so on
• Icons Sharing display simple icons for the social networks that allows sharing.

RSSocial! provides quite a few tools that will allow you to display the module in a way that will match your overall sites' look and feel. You can choose between 4 themes (No Background, Standard Background, Rounded Backgrounds or Round Background), icon font colors, size, transparency, captions etc. More details on the appearence related settings here.

The Sharing mode, provides specific settings per social platform. These can be customized within their own specific areas - e.g. Facebook tab.

Let's assume that you wish to add Facebook sharing button website.

• Head to Extensions >> Extension Manager >> look for the RSSocial! module and edit it.
• In the Module tab, choose a template position in which the module should be displayed. This is done in the Position field.
• In the Menu Assignment, select Only on the pages selected and select your homepage by checking the box associated with it.
• In the Appearance tab select Sharing in the Mode field.
• Depending on how you wish to have the buttons displayed, choose either Floating or Inline in the Positioning field.
• Head over to the RSSocial! Facebook configuration tab, don't forget to set an URL and use the social platform specific parameters.
