Ep. 11 - RSFirewall! - Joomla! Security Scanner

RSFirewall! is a Joomla! security suite that scans files for known Joomla! malware scripts, shows the vulnerabilities and protects your website from intrusions and hacker attacks.

This episode presents the most important features of the RSFirewall! "System Check" tool.

The System Check is an on-demand scanner that:

  1. 1. Checks if you are using the the latest version of Joomla! and RSFirewall!.
  2. 2. Checks the file integrity.
  3. 3. Checks folder permission
  4. 4. Checks file permission.
  5. 5. Checks malware patterns.
  6. 6. Checks the PHP configuration .
  7. 7. other Joomla! security checks

 

Once you have installed RSFirewall!, you can perform a new system check by accessing Components >> RSFirewall! >> System Check

RS Firewall should scan for hidden PHP in PNG

Hi RS Joomla!
We really like the RS Firewall extension.
Could you enhance RS Firewall to scan for hidden PHP (and javascript, html, and css) code in PNG image files? And in any files where it should not be. In any file that doesn't have the .php ending.
The reason is because many PHP trojans hide in PNG images, this is a serious information security risk.
