Smarter way to activate/deactivate RSComments

Installing RSComments provides a new button at the bottom of the editing article window; the button inserts in the text a html tag locking ON or OFF the comments function.
This way is not, in my opinion, a very smart way. I hope you will be able to (eg.) insert a special nice button somewhere in the editing window, or elsewhere, to activate the comments, instead of a html tag in the text.

Do you think it will be possible ?
