TOPIC: Purpose of These Forums?

Purpose of These Forums? 13 years 11 months ago #13489

Hello,
I really like RSForm Pro. In fact, I've written a very positive review over in the Joomla Extension Directory (extensions.joomla.org/extensions/contact...forms/4964#rev-89942).

When I need help, I submit a ticket and I'm always impressed with RSForm responses.

I think that RSForm Pro staff might do better by posting more in the forum. They must get a lot of tickets with the same questions. Answering publicly might lessen their workload.

As it is, I don't see any use to these forums. My recent count shows about 80% of all posts receive no responses, except for a bot saying you should submit a ticket!

Thanks,
Matt

Hello,

Please note that the forum's main role is to allow users to share their experiences with each other, we only guarantee support through our ticketing system. We try to be as active as we can on the forum as well, a lot of forum posts also have tickets submitted on the same topic that were answered by the support staff.
Please note: my help is not official customer support. To receive your support, submit a ticket by clicking here

I couldn't agree more. The self-help type support that forums give us IT professionals is awesome. Its how we support ourselves. The ticket system may work well for support but the solution is not instant and in many cases have already been solved but not passed onto the community. Thats where the forums help out. Im from Australia and when i work with the RS applications the tickets usually sit in limbo for 12 hours until the other side of the world wakes up. If a solution is found, please post it. It may save many tickets. We are currently looking at purchasing many more RS products for our Joomla school community but i hesitate due to the ticketing only system. Chrono has a much better self help system.

Just to update. After posting a ticket here and failing to find anything in the forums i tried google. And i found a fix for the exact error i had in ChronoForms forums. I applied the fix and it works.

Support the forums please admins.

Hello,
I'm glad others agree! As I suggested, better use of the forums would help the customers AND the developers. Customers would get more information and developers would not have to answer the same question so many times.

I'd be very interested in hearing from a live RSJoomla person on this!

Again, I am fully in support of RSJoomla and like their products. Just wanting to see some improvement of the forums.

Thanks,
Matthew
