TOPIC: populating data on second form with data from anot

populating data on second form with data from anot 12 years 11 months ago #17489

I'm a novice at all this database stuff, so please bare with me. I'm trying to setup 2 forms where I would like the information that was entered in the first form to populate the same fields in the second form, using the customer's name field as the key. Basically on the second form I would like to be able to enter the customer's name that was entered on the first form and have all similar fields on the second form filled out for me, so that I wouldn't have to retype everything. Is this possible or am I just dreaming here? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

This can be achieved, but it will require some custom scripting. Each form submission has an unique id, you can use this id and the user's name in order to identify and retrieve the correct information from the RSForm!Pro database tables that store the form submissions. You will need to use a script in the second form that will retrieve the information from your database and display it in the form fields. You could try searching the RSForm!Pro 'Custom Scripting' section for a similar example and adapt the example script to your scenario.
