TOPIC: Emails not being sent after form submission

Emails not being sent after form submission 12 years 8 months ago #18443

I've searched for this same problem and found many that had it, but no solutions. A ticket was submitted over a week ago and no response yet. Sent another one this morning.

We are having an issue where our form is not sending the form data via email to our company email accounts. It will send the info to a Yahoo account, but not to company email. We have an excahange server, so I don't know if that's an issue or not. The email address the form is set to is functioning properly, and we tried sending the form to other email addresses within the company, but with no luck.

Anyone have any suggestion as to how to fix this issue?

Hello,

You problem sounds like a hosting configuration problem.
When a server sends e-mail to a certain mail address and the server is not configured correctly the e-mail gets denied and bounces back.
This can have many reasons, the server does not have a reverse lookup, no ptr records and other necessary e-mail configurations.

The reason i think this is because you can send to Yahoo but not to the company.
Every provider has other rules.
Some times i have this problem too with many different extensions and then I look at the bounce information and extend the hosting server to fix the problem permanent.

Hello,

This is most likely caused by a server restriction. If this was caused by the component then no emails would have been sent, regardless of the domain of the email account. Since RSForm!Pro uses the default Joomla! functions in order to send out emails you can easily test the default emailing functionality by either creating a new user for the email address you are encountering issues with or if the email already has an account try resetting the password for the account.
