I have installed and got working my sample forms without a hitch but when I add my own additional fields they just don't work, the new fields that is.
None of my new fields work...

Now then, is it this update code that I haven't entered?
I haven't entered it because I don't know where to find it... can someone please tell me where it can be found... :(

The code is listed in the My Memberships section of My Accounts.

As far as the form not working, check out the How to create a form video in the Video Tutorial section of support. Lots of great help there. Be thankful that it's there, many of us didn't have that much help when we first got RSFP!

Also check to make sure that the form has AutoGenerate Layout checked. If you added items and it isn't, they won't be there or work correctly.
