Hello there,
a client of mine wants to be able to build some sort of (contact) forms. Since I'm not very happy with the form extensions arround so far and would like to give this one a go. I would highly appreciate some feedback from you about some points that still concerns me.

On the RCForm! Pro Joomla! extension directory page (extensions.joomla.org/extensions/contact...-feedback/forms/4964) you mentioned the following:
* The only Joomla! form manager 100% built with Joomla! 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5 MVC architecture
I've downloaded the Free Version for Joomla! 1.5 and it isn't using the MVC pattern at all. Now, I'm a developer myself and every time I see an extension clayming to be as close to the Joomla! framework/platform as possible (or any other extension out there), my alarm bells go off. Please don't get me wrong, I don't want to blame someone with this post. I just have a very high standard if it comes to choose the right extension for me or to be used in client environments.

Depending on the code quality of your requirement testing extension, which looks a lot more like I hoped. I'm wondering what to expect with the RCForm! Pro package.

What can you tell me about things like 3rd Party library dependencies in your extension. Either for the data export generation or even the required form field validation. How close to the "Joomla! way" of generating forms is RSForm Pro and is it possible to use plain (good "old") template overrides (full MVC)?

No doubt, 23€ for an extension are peanuts, really - I also know how much work it is to build extesions - but, you surely have some experience yourself how hard it can become to justify any costs, especially when (commercial) extension X wasn't the right one (again) and/or any customisation to be made in a "none standard" extension can pretty much push the costs sky high (not to mention the work included with each update).

Thank you for your time so far.

Best regards
Sven

RSForm! is actually a completely different product than RSForm! Pro - I think you've noticed that it doesn't work on either 1.6, 1.7 or 2.5. It's not the "free" version of RSForm! Pro - there isn't such a version.
Of course that, as the Joomla! framework evolves, RSForm! Pro has to keep up with being able to run on different configurations, server limitations and work around Joomla! limitations, while being compatible with the latest Joomla! releases, so the code may not be too pretty to look at. Yes, it does use the MVC architecture of Joomla! and it uses the built-in functions of Joomla! - it's far superior to RSForm! which isn't developed anymore and was initially aimed at Joomla! 1.0.
Joomla! template overrides are possible but you'll find no use for them as all the form rendering is done inside a helper function. You don't need template overrides because you can adjust the HTML Layout directly from within the form building area. You can demo RSForm! Pro here.
