TOPIC: Paypal and form submission

Paypal and form submission 12 years 3 months ago #20871

My client does not want to receive an email / back end submission until the payment is gone through with Paypal. The fear is getting a bunch of applications without the fee being paid and then having to chase them down. Is this possible? I don't see any settings for this to happen.

Check out the blog entry on the new version of RSFP and the new PayPal functions here
www.rsjoomla.com/blog/view/196-updated-p...e-for-rsformpro.html
and
www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/v...-payment-plugin.html

They have updated the base functionality of the plug in to add some new selections for payment processing selections.
Make sure you are using the right Joomla or the update won't work.

That's exactly the functionality I need, but unfortunately this site is joomla 1.5.26.

It doesn't say exactly on the second blog post you sent, but it seems you need at least 2.5 for this to work, correct?

Or did I not upload the correct version of the paypal plugin?

I've installed plg_paypal, was not able to install a file caled pkg_payment.

Check with support and ask if there is a work around for our 1.5x sites.

I've been using the regular plug-in for a few years and while it is a pain to have the confirmation come before the PayPal status, we've come to embrace the way it works now. It gives us an indication that someone did fill in the form but PayPal can't process the payment so we can contact them to try to resolve the payment issue. You'd be surprised how many people can't complete online forms correctly.
We just make sure that there are 2 emails that come in. If not, we know to ping the person about payment.

Also, search around the forum for "PayPal status" or other terms related to PayPal. I vaguely remember someone having some insight on how to do this with scripting.
Good luck,
Kathy
