Hello,

There is no need to disable the english language, you can simply create your form for the default language used in the frontend(notice a language selector while editing the form).

More information on this can be found here:

How to disable multi-language 10 years 9 months ago #28017

Hi there!

Same thing here... Our website is in French only, so I have to change the language in RSFormPro EVERY single time I log in to change something or create a new form. :(

I really wish I could set the default to French instead of English so I don't have to do this.

Thanks for your help! :)

You don't actually have to disable anything. You don't need to set up a multi-lingual form if you don't need to. You can simply set up the form within the default language. If no other language is detected (within the form configuration), it will display the default one within the frontend.

Dear Alex,
OK, how can we remove additional languages from the form-configuration ?
Where is this information stored ? A file, the database ?
Thank you,
Kurt

How to disable multi-language 8 years 10 months ago #35303

Same problem here, with the latest version.

It's very frustrating as every time I open a form the language is set to English even if my website default language is Italian.
Every time I notice that only after doing some changes: I can't see in the frontend, so I remember of the issue and I have to repeat again all the changes after having switched the language.

I've tried to un-publish English in the Language "Content" tab, but the problem persists.

Two suggestions to fix the problem and improve RsForm:
- Set the default Joomla language as the default form editing language
- Add a "Multi-language" tab in form properties, which allows users to switch from an automatic behavior (like it's now) to a manual behavior where they can disable "Multi-language" or remove unneeded languages.

Hope to hearing something from you soon!
Thanks
Nicolò

There is very simple rule:
If you don't want to have troubles filling different forms in different languages (English and your home language)

DON'T EVEN TOUCH YOUR HOME LANGUAGE FORMS!!!
PUT ALL INFORMATION TO ENGLISH language forms -
BUT FILL IT IN YOUR HOME LANGUAGE (Italian, French, etc) - or even in different languages if you want to :)).

And RSForms make forms in your home language as EXACT COPIES of forms filled in English.
(I think, RSForms even don't save second form for your home language since there is no differencies with english form)

But when you fill one first letter in your home language form
with information different from what you write in English form
- RSForms woud make second form for your home language
- and you woul get all the troubles of filling two forms with different information
And check whether your last edition saved in your language, or in English
- and why all the changings you make don't shown in your site pages after edit )))

Hello,

Now, there is an option for that : www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/r...d/configuration.html

maintenant, il y a une option pour désactiver le multilingue dans rsform : www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/r...d/configuration.html

Hi everyone.

I had the same problems as described above and the support was also not able to help me the way i wanded. Now i want to share my solution. But first: let me describe my need:

I have a multipage website and have many formulars. But there is one form i only need in english and it was a copy of another form. (Thats why i can not use to 'official solution'.) So i opened the forms properties, opened php scripts called on form display and added the following code:
$lang = JFactory::getLanguage();
$lang = $lang->getTag();
if ($lang == "de-DE") {
    $formLayout = '<p>Your message goes here</p><p><a class="btn btn-default" href="index.php?option=com_rsform&view=rsform&formId=22&lang=en"><i class="fa fa-angle-right"></i>&ensp;to form</a></p>';
}
Of yourse this can be used for every language and easily generate multiple feedback messages. Also i added a link to the form.

I hope some day rsform will add an option to disable multilanguage for a single form. It's not rocket science! :-)

Hello,
Incredible how the management of languages in RSForm is so bad!!!
Even if only French is enable into Joomla, even if the language of the user connected is French, even if all RSForm has been registered in French the last time, if I disable multilanguage and the save a form it's come back to english.

Are you sure to continue to support RSForm or are you a dead product?

Thanks.
Sebastien Lapoux.

Hello,

Currently you can only disable the multi-language functionality as a global setting, applied over all your forms.

@lapoux.sebastien when you disable the multi-language option, your forms will use their original slate (by default the English version is used as this is the default Joomla! language and the form can't differentiate on which variation is correct, eventually the original slate being used).

However, if the form was edited only using French, then the "English" version would had been identical to your French version.

Somewhere in the past you've edited your form in English, thus having such discrepancy since more than one variation exists for your form.

Feel free to test the following:

- re-enable the multi-language option.

- add a new form and ensure you're editing it, adding fields or making changes using another entirely different language than English (from the top-left language switcher while editing a form).

- then disable the multi-language option as you'll notice the form will be the same.

If you do no plan on using multiple languages on your forms, disable the multi-language option before creating your forms. Or without disabling this option, ensure you're only editing the form on a single language variation (so that it is automatically inherited regardless of which language you may be using in the frontend area).

Thanks for your quick feedback adrianp!

But your answer is not acceptable when the website has already a ton (around 50) of forms. The purpose is not to create new form.

Any solution for existing forms?

Thanks.

Hello lapoux.sebastien,

maybe my approach can help you: check the current language and redirect the user directly to your language (instead of giving him a hint).
