I'm trying to locate information how I can place the input label within the input field itself so it doesn't take up so much room on a mobile device.

Sitepoint just had a very good article "Designing Intuitive and Mobile Friendly Forms" and it made sooooo much sense.

I suspect there is an option in RSForm! Pro but I haven't found it yet... nor in the documentation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so if I understand correctly, you have a field called "Full Name" and instead of having "Full NAme" outside of the box you want it inside of the box?

If that is the case open each field that you want to edit go to Attibutes --> Placeholder, enter whatever you want in that field.

That worked great. I had gone through the docs a number of times and even read the Placeholder description however it was not abundantly clear what that did. This is what it says... (Placeholder: - this option has been introduced along with RSForm!Pro version 1.51.0 and allows setting up the field's placeholder)... which is not exactly clear.

Using the same words to describe a function is like me saying, "You start your car by starting your car!" For someone not familiar to the process of driving this would be meaningless to someone relatively new to driving etc. I think a little more explanation might be in order for the documentation. After all documentation is supposed to be there for learning... and also so that relative newbs like me don't have to ask basic questions like this!

Hey I am the same way. I'm not a programmer or coder, but when I do get the whole coding things I know how to put things in "Everyday Joe" terms.

It's funny how documentation appears to be written (not just here) but most everywhere by people from another planet.

Having said that though I've also gotten some very timely and easy to understand instructions and tips from the support staff here at RSJoomla... they obviously weren't the ones who originally wrote the manuals! ;)

Sorry to jump on an old thread but it seems relevant - is there anyway to move the (*) for required fields in to the placeholder position too?

Hi don't know if you found your answer, but the quick easy way without getting to dirty just type in the (*) in the field label.

I'm sure there is a way, but I would have to look into it and see, but then again it could be beyond my scope, but I will take a crack at it
