TOPIC: eWay mapping limitations

eWay mapping limitations 8 years 3 months ago #36357

We just implemented the eWay payment plugin. Transactions are processed OK and upon submission are accepted and processed by eWay without a problem. However, though all the form fields are correctly recorded and viewable under 'Submissions', the transaction report sent back from eWay only shows the fields mapped in the eWay configuration screen for the form (Card Holder, Card No., Card Expiration Month and Year, Card Security Code (CSC)), plus transaction date and amount (value). The eWay transaction report normally also includes Customer First Name, Customer Second Name, Customer Address, Post Code and Customer email address but these are blank on the report we receive, even though all these fields are in the form. Is it feasible to include these additional fields in the eWay configuration screen to solve the problem?

I use the same setup and had a long exchange with eWay's tech people on it.

I can confirm that is a limitation of eWay's API. You cannot pass that information through.

A fix is not on their roadmap right now, they are preoccupied with changing their bank it seems.

Cheers
Richard

So the problem is with eWay, not RS!Forms. We have worked round it by routing all the confirming Admin emails to an appropriate office address and making sure every field is included in the email and the relevant fields included in the email header too so that admin staff don't even need to open the email(s) to save time. RS!Forms only sends the emails if Status = 'Accepted' so that we can be sure that any transaction reported in an email must have been accepted by eWay and therefore will be included in the daily eWay transaction report, albeit sans the details. This means we can virtually ignore the eWay transaction report except to validate the daily total.
Thanks for following up, Richard.
