TOPIC: Support Ticket Component

Support Ticket Component 16 years 4 months ago #5860

Hi,

Can you explain in a little more detail how the support ticket component is supposed to work. I have looked at the user guide, and have played around with the component on an actual form and cannot see how it is supposed to work.

For instance, I have added the component to one of the forms I have created, but when I fill the form in and submit it from the front-end, I do not get a notification of a Ticket reference or anything like that. I have also looked at the form submission in the back-end and although there is a column titled support ticket, nothing shows up there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Dude...this is really easy...You just include the Support Ticket element. What this does is 'Auto Create' a ticket number for easier tracking...

Now just build your form however you wish.

Remember to also build the USER side (the emails that the person will get) and the admin side (the form YOU will get).
You can use these two areas to insert the tags into the emails you and the person will get.

Example:USER EMAIL
: Hi...Your Support/Trouble Ticket has been received and confirmed. When referencing or inquiring about this request, please use the ticket number included in this email:

Your Ticket number for this request is: {Ticket Number:value}

Ticket Details as per your request:
{Trouble Ticket Details:value}

A support staff member will be in contact soon regarding your request.

ADMIN EMAIL: this is email YOU get when someone submits
A New ticket has arrived from {First and Last Name:value}
eMail: {email Address:value}

Ticket Number: {Ticket Number:value}

Problem or Issue:
{Trouble Ticket Details:value}

This component is REALLY easy...the best I have seen yet!

One more thing...you can also insert the tags (Shown to right AFTER you build your form components)
So..Let's say you want the person's email to be shown in the FROM. Then THAT is what you put in the FROM field under the ADMIN tab. like this: {emailAddress:value}

I hope this helps a little bit...I am JUST rebuilding my site from scratch and this was the first thing I did...I built this in about an hour...Now..My site is still in template form (So don't gimme any crud about it! :) , BUT you can give this component a shot from the user side. Go here:
