TOPIC: Stupid question

Stupid question 16 years 3 months ago #6034

I have set up my form, but when I hit the submit button it doesn't generate an e-mail, show up in the submissions, or take the user to the web page I want them to. It just returns to the original form page. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need some script in the submission button? Thanks.:(

I'm a newbie too, However, everything works...

View the Sample form that came with your install..

Email solution: If you place a \"Valid\" email in both the User Email, and Admin Email.. an email will be sent.

Also, the \"user\" on your site should be \"registered\" in order for the fields to be populated with THAT users information..

Also, check that USER's settings to ensure that \"Send System Emails\" in enabled...otherwise an email will not be send back to them for confirmation.

After you \"Submit\" your form.. and the form comes back still filled in.. check for \"RED\" remarks for invalid entry...

Also, use the \"After Successfull Submit\" url to send them back to a different Menu Item to (or Article) that sais thanks...

Hi Thomas,

By any chance to you know if I don't have users registered if it will work ok? Right now, I have my order form setup from a menu item. The users are not required to register first. Also, do you know how the \"select\" drag and drop works? I have a windows PC so not sure if I use left mouse button to highlight (select) and ALT+Click to drag?

Thanks for any help! :)

Re:Stupid question 16 years 3 months ago #6233

I didn't think anything was happening because I couldn't see submission in the backend but discovered that I had to actually select the form to view the submissions. I also realized I hadn't put an email address in the to field.

So for me the big problem is usability. It would help if they made everything more obvious and particularly added instructions to put the email address, not the name, in the \"to\" field in the config.

Ok, so it's working but the problem I still have is when I get the email, it's completely blank.

Post edited by: barbara.gore, at: 2009/01/19 22:25
