TOPIC: German "ä" in sender name - error

German "ä" in sender name - error 15 years 11 months ago #7264

Hi, when I try to use a word with the German character "ä" in the text field of a mail form (sender name), I get an error message. Furthermore, in the next field (the eMail adress), a lot of Javascript code is filled in.

If I dont use ä in the "Your Name" field, everything is OK, mails are sent out as intended.

Please see: www.piloten.at/Schnupperflug-PPL-A-Piloten-Flugschule/

Ihr Name = YOUR NAME
Ihre Mail-Adresse = YOUR EMAIL
Ihre Nachricht = YOUR MESSAGE

Try it with the name "ägidius" in the YOUR NAME-field...

Thx

Hello,

Regarding the javascript error, please refer to the following article:

www.rsjoomla.com/customer-support/docume...s-are-messed-up.html

As for the special chars... you will have to modify the components/com_rsform/controller/validation.php file and add those characters to the valid chars at the appropriate rule.

I have had this problem alot, with other website I made not using yoomla or RSForm! pro.

Instead of the letter you get rubish or incomplete name.
Then the problem could be that you use different kind charsets .
I use almost always utf8. My problem was that I used utf8 on 1 component and someting else at a other.

I found a little article here on this site mayde it helps
