FIRST, My FORMS DON'T WORK! after my new upgrade unless I turn off Site Cache in Global Congig. Thier are two MAJOR Show Stopper problems going on here that you need to fix and relaese a new Upgrade! Problems actually which render my forms useless! If Validation fails for any reason and user needs to go back to the form to make the correction they will then see a mysterious line of java script code right inside the email field! The answer on this forum from admin is to "TURN OF EMAIL CLOAKING" (a bandaid fix). Right now my forms are useless after my new upgrade (or from last upgrade). I can't tell you when the problems started as I just launched my new site and users were not getting a "thank you for submitting your request" message. After testing the form I was horrified not knowing why my forms wern't doing anything! On the old version this was NOT a problem.

So now I'm stuck with 2 useless forms. My options are 1)turn-off Site Cache and get a funky code show up in my Footer (effects mod_footer) SEE THIS WITH SITE CACHE ON->Notice: Undefined variable: csite_name in /home/websterc/public_html/modules/mod_footer/mod_footer.php on line 302) un-install and put old version back up with hope it dosn't write over my exsisting forms. 3) get my money back and be done with the headaches 4)band-aid the problems on the new upgrade release(as admin suggests)by turing email cloaking OFF or for certain contect articles AND turning of site and System Cache to the form works to band-aid the poorly tested new upgrade release. Which I refuse to do by the way, as band-aid fixes(changing things to fix other problems for a temp fix) ALWAYS BREAKS something else.

So I hope Admin can tell me WHEN A NEW RELEASE WILL COME OUT to FIX these show-stopper problems OR What I should do (un-install and install my older version for now?) because I cannot use my forms right now on my newly launched website!!! NOT GOOD FOR ME! It's called how about "testing" your software before releasing your new upgrade to make sure it works!

Hello,

1) With the System Cache plugin enabled, NO FORMS WILL EVER SUBMIT REGARDLESS OF THE COMPONENT/EXTENSION THAT CREATES THEM unless they are the login form by Joomla!. This has been long debated and a detailed explanation about this can be found here:
www.rsjoomla.com/customer-support/forum/...nabled-.html?start=6

2) The Joomla! Email Cloaking plugin has also been discussed here:
www.rsjoomla.com/customer-support/docume...s-are-messed-up.html
The Joomla! Email Cloaking plugin does not test if the email address is inside an input field / textarea / any other form element, this is how it's built by the Joomla! team, it just replaces email addresses as it finds them. Again, this is clearly stated in the docs.

3) Notice: Undefined variable: csite_name in /home/websterc/public_html/modules/mod_footer/mod_footer.php on line 302
mod_footer is NOT part of RSForm! Pro, it's not written by us, the message clearly states the error is on line 302 of that file.

There's nothing wrong with this release, it has been tested on numerous websites and a good percentage of our clients has already updated and have no problems.

PS: There's no extension in the world that can bypass System Cache and Email Cloaking. If you find one, please let us know, because we're interested in the solution as well.

FYI My System - Cache Plug-In is NOT enabled! However in my Global Configuration->System Settings->Cache Settings if set to "yes" your form(s)on my site do not work anymore and my footer message problem goes away. If set to "no" your forms work again and the message in my footer stays. To get rid of the message after it appears I then to go to Joomla backend to Tools-> Clean Cache->Cache Manager-> and delete Mod_footer file to clear it out.

The problem is in order for your forms to work I need to go to Global Configuration->System setting->Cache Settings->Cache andset to "NO" which causes this message to appear,(Notice: Undefined variable: csite_name in /home/websterc/public_html/modules/mod_footer/mod_footer.php on line 302 with

Back in April I had these forms working with no problems. I tested them and had no problems. My Global Config System Cache setting was always set on Cache Setting "Yes". My System Plug-in that you refer to was "disabled". Now since my last upgrade I noticed my forms where NOT working, meaning nothing happened when I filled out my form and hit submit. So was this a result of the most recent upgrade, or the one prior to this? I tested my forms back in April with all the same system settings and they worked fine. I belive I have upgraded twice since April, you can correct me if I'm wrong. SO until you get these two problems FIXED can I un-install and go back to a version back in April?

Using caching for a dynamic part of your website (forms are dynamic) will never show good results.
As I previously said, mod_footer is not written by RSJoomla! and has nothing to do with RSForm! Pro. If you know PHP, you need to debug that line and see why it throws that message. The mod_footer saved in the cache does not have the message because it was probably a different version of the file.

Again, I am underlining: the Joomla! Cache caches pages regardless of content. If you cache a dynamic page, the visitor will only see the first version of the page (the empty form, in your case). You can't cache several "versions" of the page (the empty form, form with invalid fields, thank you page).

Until the Joomla! Cache is developed with further options (ignore components, ignore custom links etc), there's nothing you can do.

I doubt your old version works better, since we haven't done anything regarding caching between versions. You can read the RSForm! Pro changelog for more information about what we've updated in our product.
You probably were testing the forms yourself for the first time, and the Joomla! Cache didn't cache them at that moment, so they were working.
If you use a direct link (eg. index.php?option=com_rsform&formId=1) for your forms, the Joomla! Cache should be bypassed. If you try to embed them in an article/module position, it can't be bypassed because of the above mentioned limitations in the Joomla! Cache.

Regards!

PS: I see you've already submitted a ticket, we can take a look of your mod_footer error, but you will have to answer to our reply.
