TOPIC: reporting feature

this has probably been covered somewhere else, but a reporting feature based on utilization would be nice...both in the frontend and backend.

This way, if you had say a billable hours area, you could find out who is productive or which customer gets the most attention...etc...

Great product by the way, super simple to use and understand.

Hi there

Great component. We also would very much like a reporting feature. Very simple stuff, just...

a) a list of outstanding tickets
b) difference between time lodged and now (ie how long they have been outstanding)
c) who is the owner
d) closed tickets, the number, how long to close, who was teh owner etc

I would say to start with :
- daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly utilization by staff member based on a 40 hour work week
- create a default question for billable (yes/no)
- create an area where if it is billable, then they must put in a number.
- create a seperate area where if it is non-billable work, then they must put in a number
- create a report that shows the number of hours spent on a certain category and by which staff members
- create a report that shows the number of hours spent on a certain customer and by which staff members
- create an overall utilization report for all staff members combined showing the effectiveness of the company in general
- create an area where a staff members personal income can be entered and projected as a comparison to his effectiveness on that staff members billable hours. Basically to see if that staff member is costing more money than what he is bringing in from his billable hours.

Lastly, having this all available to export (which it might all ready do...I don't know) to either a CSV or XLS file would be cool. That way there might be a way of eventually being able to import to quickbooks or something.

Ideally, I think it would be pretty cool if you could select what you wanted in the reports. That way you could overlay reports, take for example, wanting to see how effective a particular staff member is in relation to the overall effectiveness of the company. Or being able to tell which customer is occupying the most hours of billable or non billable.

There is more, but my tiny brain can only process so much......

Glad to hear that ya'll are going to include reports in upcoming roll-outs - I'm getting lots of positive feedback on the use of this new module in my Intranet. It's so much easier to use then the one we were using.

Is there an ETA in which an alpha/beta release may be available? I have a few customers which this would perfect for, but reporting is a requirement.

Some thoughts - providing the ability to export and run reports (similar to what you have the export with RSForm) where the user can select the fields to include and in which order for some basic reports would be a good phase 1 deliverable. Reports should be able to filter/query on any field (including custom fields), date range, dept, staff, person etc. Another nice add would be to specify a 'group by' on the param screen which would allow for generating reports such as 'open tickets by X' where X is a list of fields (standard and custom) defined for the report type.
