TOPIC: Registered users being able to view other tickets

Registered users being able to view other tickets 15 years 8 months ago #7989

Is there a way to group certain users to the same group and make it so they can see any ticket submitted by other people in that group. For example, if we are dealing with 2 people from the same company who are registered on our site, we want to put those 2 people in the same group, so if one of them submits a ticket for a problem, the other person can view that ticket and see that the issue has already been reported and there is no need for the 2nd user to submit a ticket about it. I want them to be able to see tickets for themselves and other people in that group only, while leaving tickets for other groups private so they cannot see other companies tickets.

To be honest with you, i dont think there is a way of doing that, short of having a custom module written that ties in with it.

I submitted a support ticket on this matter a few months ago, and this is an extract of the reply that i recived
Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this... you will have to build up some complex scripting in order to achieve the desired effect... Perhaps building up a custom module that will extract the tickets that were posted by certain users and display them.

So, if you know how to do this, it could help us both...

I did submit another ticket, requesting this as a feature in an upcoming update, and this is the reply i got:
You did the right thing submitting a ticket with your suggestion for RStickets. A similar feature is already on our TO DO list, however i can't provide an estimate on when this will be ready.

Regards and once again thank you for your suggestion!

I know that it doesnt really help the current situation you/we are dealing with, but hopefully it might be delt with soon.

Hope this gets sorted for you/us soon, and in the meantime, knowing you either need to put up with it, or that you need to create a custom module could well give you a little peace of mind, knowing that you are not doing anything wrong.
