Hi there
I have a weird error with RS Firewall. When ever I try to upgrade from 44 to 46 on my Joomla! 2.5.8 my Super Administrator is deleted. An I am unable to recreate another. In fact I am unable to login to the backend. And when I try to create one via PHPMyadmin I can't either.

It sounds a bit like this:
http://www.rsjoomla.com/forum/45-rsfirewall/18071-cant-create-administrator-or-super-administrator.html

Has anyone else seen something similar?

Brgds. Jacob.

This happens because of the System Lockdown feature. You've enabled it and no new admins can be created. If you are unable to login, rename /plugins/system/rsfirewall/rsfirewall.php to rsfirewall.bak, create a new admin in phpMyAdmin and you'll be able to login successfully.
Afterwards, go to Firewall Configuration > Active Scanner and deselect all users from "Protect the following users from any changes", set "Disable the creation of new Administrators" to "No" and rename /plugins/system/rsfirewall/rsfirewall.bak to rsfirewall.php.

Great explanation! Thanks, Octavian.

But how come the Super User is being deleted during the upgrade?

This shouldn't happen - I've updated from R44 to R46 right now just to be sure and no administrators were deleted. It would be useful if you had a backup of the database so that I can check out if something was wrong in the tables before the upgrade.

I have put up a test site here: www.buit.dk/frv
How can I PM you a Joomla!-login and acces to PHPMyadmin?

Just submit a new support ticket - it's a private area and you can safely paste all the login information.

Does this explain that, when RSFirewall is set to lockdown, I cannot alter the superadministrator's username or password via phpmyadmin?
