TOPIC: Update and RS Firewall has disappeared

Update and RS Firewall has disappeared 11 years 10 months ago #23664

I have just updated RS Firewall. All my component options are visible. However, now when I go to my backend URL the firewall entry point where the firewall password is requested does not appear. It did previously. I cannot find any setting that may have turned this off. In my previous version I had to enable or disable a lockdown but this does not appear in my new version so don't know if it is related. Anyone with any ideas?

Hello,

As you know there are two versions of RSFirewall!:

- for Joomla! 1.5 the latest version is RSFirewall! revision 44
- for Joomla! 2.5/3.x currently revision 49

On Joomla! 2.5/3.x, RSFirewall! no longer requires a master password in order to control component permissions. These permissions are now controlled through the Joomla! ACL user groups for every component separately.

RSFirewall! component permissions are changed from the "Firewall Configuration" tab, also an additional backend password can be enabled. These features are explained here:

www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/v...l-configuration.html

You can read more about the new RSFirewall! revision here:
