Hi,

I have had a site that was hacked. I have re-installed the site from a back-up and installed RS Firewall with no problems. On the first scan report it was suggested that I move the tmp folder outside public_html which I have done so and set the write permissions to 755 and entered correct path to configuration file. However, I cannot install new extensions at all and I get the following errors don't matter what I try to install. Any ideas? Thanks.

JFolder::create: Could not create directoryPath: /home/joomla_tmp

JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/joomla_tmp/install_53846ae033dc0

JFolder: :folder: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/joomla_tmp/install_53846ae033dc0

JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/joomla_tmp/install_53846ae033dc0

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

I am having a similar problem with a Joomla 2.5 install. I had moved the temp folder outside the public folder but when I go to my System Information > Directory Permissions it show the following error...

Warning: is_writable(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/eye/joomlatmp) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/eye/public_html:/tmp::/home/eye/public_html/tmp:/home/eye/public_html/logs) in /home/eye/public_html/administrator/components/com_admin/models/sysinfo.php on line 222

Plus I get the following error in the RSFirewall System check for Checking if there are any files left in the Joomla! temporary folder...

Error! is not a valid folder!

Please advise! At this point I had to set it back to the original path.

Thanks,
Chris

Your error is anything but similar... The RSFirewall! product documentation does address this issue:
