In order to repeat an event every 3'rd Monday you will have to make the event "Recurring" with the following settings:

-to make an event recurring simply check "Recurring event This event is repeating 0 times" found in the event details tab. After checking this the "Recurring" tab will be available.

-Set the "Repeat every:" field to 21 and ensure that the dropdown is set to "days".

-"End repeat" set to the end date of the event.

-"Repeat on" set to "Monday"

Also ensure that:

-the event "Starting:" date is on "Monday"!
-the event "Ending:" date is after a year.

How to Repeat Event every 3rd Monday? 12 years 4 months ago #20610

Hi all,

I have a similar problem. I have recurring events on every 1st and 2nd monday of each month. Is there a way to manage this? I've been doing this with the "also recurring on" function so far, but this is a lot of work and the time of the event keeps moving forward an hour each time i make a change, very frustrating ....

This doesn't seem to work in all instances...

I tried it for an event starting on the 3rd Saturday of August 2013 (which I wanted to repeat monthly until August 2014). The component said that the event was going to repeat 17 times (instead of 12)...

What to do..?

Even if the above quoted instructions did work, it's hardly intuitive for ordinary members attempting to post events in the calendar.

Hello,

I apologize for any confusion. Unfortunately because of the different number of days a month can have (28,29,30 or 31), using a fixed number for days recurrence in this case will never calculate properly.

To make this work, after you have set your event start and end date, simply go to the "Recurring" tab and:

- set "repeat every" to 3 weeks
- set the "Repeat on" to Monday
- check "Apply changes to all occurrences"
- and press the "Update event" button

You should now see your repeated events by pressing the "Show repeated events".

More information about RSEvents!Pro Recurring tab can be found here:

PS: Make sure you are using the latest version of RSEvents!Pro (currently Rev 5).

Sorry to bring this back up, but this solution is still not working.
The months vary so much that even choosing number of weeks is off. What is so hard about creating a setting in the Recurring Events section to a certain week of the month and then choosing the day that it falls on? I need my event to be on every 3rd Thursday of each month. But sometimes they are 4 weeks apart and sometimes they are 5. When it hits a month that is 5 weeks away instead of 4, it throws everything off.
Seems like this should be included in the next release.
Right now, the only way to accomplish this is very cumbersome. You either have to restart your Recurring Event with another event (which in some cases can only repeat 1 or 2 times) or just select the dates to also repeat. Gotta be a better way.

I completely agree with what Michael said. You guys need to tweak the code to allow better event repeating (first monday of each month, third friday of month, etc). It needs to be work much like Google Calendar or Apple's iCal to be user friendly enough.

The previous method that was provided does not work whatsoever.
